Brent Larlee
Brent Larlee is the founder and Managing
Director of
WaiHaka Strategies LLC, a management consulting firm focused
on helping companies accelerate top line revenue growth. As an
entrepreneurial executive, Brent has a proven track record of
working in leadership roles that include operational, sales,
marketing, consulting, financial, and human resources functions
in fast growth companies. He has transitioned this experience
into his work with senior management teams and executives where
he functions both in a strategic advisory role as well as
implementing initiatives to support transition.
For much of his career, Brent has worked
for challenger firms who take on industry leaders with
innovative marketing and sales strategies that overcome the
superior financial and human resources larger companies can
throw at an initiative. Playing David against market Goliaths
has formed his approach to be pragmatic and focused on high
return activities that fill a niche previously under served
within a market.
Prior to WaiHaka Strategies, he was one of
the founders of Animation Technologies, a Boston-based
litigation consulting company. During his 10 year tenure with
the firm, at various times Brent oversaw all functions of the
company including acting as the chief operating and chief
financial officer as well as leading the fund raising process to
secure venture capital financing to fuel more rapid growth and
geographic expansion. His leadership enabled the company to
achieve annual growth rates of 30-100%, and managed geographic
expansion with offices in 5 other major metropolitan areas in
the US. As part of the executive team, Brent formed the
strategic business model and reshaped the company when, after 7
years, they decided to spin off and sell a life sciences
consulting practice in 2004.
For the first 8 years of his career, Brent
worked as a sales representative, sales manager, and alliance
manager for software and technology services firms, including
Brainstorm Technologies, International Software Group, and ADP.
Brent graduated with a degree, from the
University of Maine, in Mathematics with a concentration in
Electrical Engineering. A collegiate rugby player, he now fuels
his competitive spirit racing sailboats in local, regional, and
national events.
