Service Management Overview
Service management is a comprehensive process-oriented approach
to becoming customer and service oriented. Service Management is a
highly effective approach for both of the following scenarios:
- Service providers whose customers are external to the
organization (paying customers).
- Service providers whose customers are internal / within the
same company (employees).
Effective service management makes it necessary to focus less
on functions and components and more on an approach guided by
business process. The importance of upper management leading by
example to promote this culture should not be under-estimated.
